{Home Decor} Nusery tour: Emily's Pretty little Contemporary Haven

Today we are sharing the sweetest little Baby Nursery. It is fresh, girly and packed with modern + DIY touches. We love the color palette of pale pinks, sea foam greens and yellows against a neutral backdrop. It is so tranquil and feminine. The perfect Haven for both Mommy and baby. :)

Thank you so much to Carolyn Valentin for sharing these beautiful images with us. You probably remember hearing about Carolyn from this blog. She is the go to girl for new blog creation and worked with me on Serendipity Soiree! Carolyn has the most fabulous blog Life in Gratz (now life in Pittsburgh as they have returned to the USA!)...and we are excited to see what she comes up with for her own nursery...with her own little bundle arriving in weeks!

Carolyn's sister Erin is the talent behind this room. Erin is an artist...and painted the beautiful abstract art you see in the images. LOVE.
We especially LOVE the DIY  pink (perfect shade of pink in our opinion) stencilled rug from a rug originally bought from IKEA. You would swear it was purchased from West Elm...or a high end boutique.  It does the perfect job of breaking up the neutral carpet and becomes a large showpiece focal point in the space (secondary of course to the beautiful wall artwork). We adore everything....but those Ombre painted counting beads...brilliant! What a fabulous job!

One of the best things I love about a room like this...it will grow with the Emily (unlike many typical character themed rooms). The beautiful painting will become a keepsake for her own house one day. The beautiful cozy chair can also be used in another room... like a playroom for curling up and reading stories in when the nursery outgrows it. The dresser turned change table will double as a stand alone dresser when Emily gets older. Choosing white furniture with classic simple lines is the perfect option, as it will fit into any future color scheme and will not go out of style (if you get tired of it you can always just switch out the knobs for a quick makeover).
